Behind every bar of soap and every product lies a traditional craft process, natural ingredients and a great deal of care.
Here’s how it all began..
It all started at home
My name is Cristina, and I’m the person behind Cristina Pons Sabons Artesans. And although this is my job now, it all started at home, in a very simple way: I just wanted to take a bit more care of my surroundings. I started making soap from the used oil in my kitchen. It was my way of reducing waste, making the most of what I already had, and doing things differently. I wasn’t looking for anything more. But little by little, that small gesture grew.
When I started making soap for my skin, I noticed the difference straight away. My skin felt softer, more nourished… more vibrant. And that’s when something just ‘clicked’. Then came solid shampoos, and for me it was a revelation. They last longer, come without packaging, are more practical… and are much more in line with what I was looking for.
At the time, my children were young, and we went through a lot of toiletries at home. I remember the first solid shampoo I made for them; it lasted two weeks, which I thought was brilliant.
I have always created from reality. I have always drawn inspiration from real life. First I tried it myself, then my family. And so, little by little, I developed my products with every need, every skin type and every moment in mind. Because we’re not all the same. And neither is our skin.
Living in Menorca has also had a profound influence on this journey. It was here that I learnt to look around me and appreciate what’s close at hand. I started by gathering plants, then grew them myself, respecting their timing, their rhythm and their essence. Without rushing. What began as a hobby gradually grew without me even realising it. I just wanted to look after my family. Until life pushed me to take the plunge. After years working in the cleaning industry, a situation at work made me rethink everything. And with my family’s support, I decided to give this a go. Today, I’m still learning every day. And I’m still creating just as I did at the start: with calm, respect and affection.
This is how I understand cosmetics
Cristina Pons Sabons Artesans was born out of a particular way of looking at life. We believe in simple, honest and mindful cosmetics. Back to basics. We formulate our products using natural ingredients, prioritising organic and locally sourced raw materials wherever possible. We work with what our local environment provides, respecting the land and its natural cycles.
Each product is handmade in small batches, without rushing. Because we believe that things done properly take time. We have designed this product especially for those with sensitive skin – for people looking for something gentle, kind to the skin and that really works without causing irritation.
Our philosophy is clear: less, but better. You don’t need to fill your bathroom with products; you need to find the ones that really look after you. That’s why we focus on simple, effective and balanced formulas. With no unnecessary ingredients.
We use ingredients of both plant and animal origin, always chosen with care and respect. And there’s one thing that’s essential to me: a friendly, personal touch. If you’ve ever come to see me at a market, you’ll already know that. I like to listen, understand what you need and give you honest advice. Even if that sometimes means telling you that I don’t have what you need and recommending other products.

Menorca isn’t just the place where I live. It’s part of all this. Living on an island makes you more aware. Here, everything is clearer: what you consume, what you throw away, the impact you leave behind.
Everything returns to the sea.
This island, both peaceful and untamed, has taught me to slow down. To respect the rhythm of things. To do things with purpose.
That way of life is reflected in every product.
